One of the joy to live in the city of Melbourne, one of many I should say, is the city’s appreciation for art and fashion. And I have been lucky enough to live so close to Melbourne’s Art Precinct. So after month’s of anticipation, walking past the big billboard sign on the side of National Gallery of Victoria (NGV), announcing the arrival of Jean Paul Gaultier’s exhibition, I can finally say, it was worth the wait. The exhibition titled, “The Fashion World of Jean Paul Gaultier, from the sidewalk to the catwalk” is a wonderful celebration of the designer’s decades of work. The exhibition runs from 17th of October through to the 8th of February 2015. There are plenty of other events specially created in conjunction with JPG’s exhibition to explore the themes and ideas behind the exhibition. Absolute testament to JPG’s influences in pop-culture, he’s a Simpson’s character!
By the way, if you’re going to see JPG don’t miss, well you can’t miss it, this beautiful creation by Carsten Höller called “Golden Mirror Carousel” absolutely fun cause you can actually go on it for a very, very slow ride…
