Last week, I had the pleasure to celebrate one of my good friend’s birthday in this wonderful restaurant. Maha Restaurant is owned by Chef Shane Delia, who is known for his SBS series, Spice Journey. The restaurant has such wonderful atmosphere and great welcoming staff team.
It is a degustation menu for dinner, we enjoyed the four course Spice Journey Souffa, which cost $85 per person with $60 for matched wine. Here it is,
Local olives, fel fel roast pumpkin and cinnamon hummus, chicken, cashews, sage
Chemen cured swordfish, kewpie mayo preserved lemon and shallot
Grilled octopus, olive oil poached potato, spring onion
Second and Third…
Moorish roast chicken, black cabbage, smoked paprika
Roasted jerasalem artichokes, preserved lemon, red aleppo pepper
Pea, broad bean, frieze lettuce, tomato and saffron dressing
12 hour roasted lamb shoulder, garlic, cumin, coriander,
Smashed radish, smoked pepper and almonds, mint
Cuttlefish croqueta, garlic aioli, saffron pickled calamari
Winter leaf salad, pumpkin seeds, roast fennel dressing
Forgotten grains, pulses, cumin and caramelised onion, black cabbage
Turkish delight filled doughnuts, rosewater honey ‘sutlac’
Maple syrup and rosemary pearls, chocolate soil, raspberry sorbet
Argan oil chocolate brownie, orange and cinnamon ice cream
Love, love, love the whole meal, we all left feeling so happy and well fed. All the dishes are well prepared and delicious. The standout dishes for me were, the croqueta, cured swordfish, and turkish delight doughnuts.
They do similar food offering with lower price for Sunday lunch, what a perfect way to spend a relaxing Sunday…
